I've been watching the Rachel Maddow/Pat Buchanan back-and-forth on MSNBC this whole prolonged primary season, and I've been enjoying the hell out of it. They are both very smart, witty, and charismatic. But I have to admit that I've been wondering when Buchanan would revert to that old Nixon-crony, unhinged, ultra right wing, Opus Dei loon we've come to know and love.
The answer is March 12th, as it turns out:
And Rachel Maddow (AKA the best thing about MSNBC, if not TV altogether these days) kicks his ass in a perfectly "I'm more disappointed than angry" way.

Rachel's a good 'un, all right, and as nice as it is to see her smack Pat Buchanan, I don't see why anyone sits through these things. That whole clip reminded me, once again, of my happiness about not having cable. If I wanted to hear squabbling like this, I'd get a job running a pre-school.
