Novick for Senate

I'm seriously thinking about endorsing Steve Novick for Senate. All I know about the man is that he's a Democrat and he made the following ad:

Anyone know anything about the guy? I'm asking all 3.2 of my readers. Not that my endorsement means anything (particularly not in Oregon), but I'd hate to wind up endorsing some horrible candidate just because I'd like to have a beer with him.
But just so there's no second guessing, I really would like to have a beer with a man who's not afraid to open that beer with his hook in his ad.

It seems you don't live in Oregon, so you won't have a chance to vote for the guy, but he's definitely one to support. I'm an Oregonian and have been volunteering for the guy since I met him last summer, and I don't regret a minute of it.

If you want to learn more about where he is on various issues, he has a very comprehensive issues section on his campaign site. He's sharp as a whip and there's real substance behind the humor.

Well, hot damn, maloney. You certainly are Johnny-on-the-spot with the reply.
And the more I look at your candidate, the more I like him. This is also a helpful intro.
I don't think I know any Oregonians and as far as I know, you are the only one who's ever read this blog, but for what it's worth, good luck!

I live in Portland and am hooked on Novick. First impressions are lasting impressions. Here are mine. In retrospect, I think the guy always impressed me.

Yeah, the use of "Google Alerts" tuned to Steve Novick has led me to blogs in places all around the country and outside too.

It's an interesting race and Steve is an interesting character. That article you linked to, by the way, was my first exposure to the guy. I met him at a house party and, BAM!, I was (pardon the pun) hooked.

Thanks for the pixels! :)
